Mayor Byron W. Brown today announced an additional recycling effort to properly dispose of any naturally grown Christmas tree in the City of Buffalo. The collection is scheduled to last from January 3th to January 7th on regularly scheduled garbage days. The process will be conducted by the City of Buffalo’s Department of Public Works, Parks & Streets as a way to reduce costs associated with taking the trees to landfills. Sixty dollars will be saved for every ton recycled. To participate in this collection, city residents are asked to place trees on their curb (preferably un-bagged) before a regularly scheduled garbage pickup. Although scheduled on the same days, trees will be picked up separately from garbage, so city residents should not be concerned if they are left behind after garbage removal. Cazenovia Park
