Cutler Quarterly Report Shows City Well Ahead of Schedule on Lead Hazard Control Mayor Brown today announced that the City of Buffalo received a perfect score from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and their Office of Healthy Homes and Lead Hazard Control (OHHLHC). This score documented the city’s progress in HUD’s October-December 2008 Quarterly Report. Through this assessment, the City of Buffalo received a “Green Designation,” signifying that the city’s program is exceeding primary benchmark standards for the completion of lead hazard control work in homes, as well as in Line of Credit Control System (LOCCS) Drawdowns. “HUD’s assessment serves as great acknowledgement of my Administration’s hard work in making improvements to housing throughout the city,” said Mayor Brown. “We are ahead of schedule in all areas of lead assessment, and plan to continue at this pace to maximize benefits of this program for our city residents.” Specifically, the city was assessed as being ahead of schedule in the following areas: Target Assessment/Evaluation (93 completed), Target Units Completed/Cleared (30 cleared), and Target LOCCS Drawdowns ($158,310.00). Several factors are included in HUD’s assessment, including progress in meeting established benchmarks and progress in drawing down grant funds relative to the work performed. |
