Annual Fund Raiser Open to Public

BUFFALO – Mayor Byron W. Brown and the Presidents of Buffalo's Sister Cities will host the Eighth Annual Sister Cities Dinner and Cabaret on Friday, May 5, 2006 from 6-9 PM at St. Stanislaus Social Center, 389 Peckham Street, Buffalo.

"We'll be celebrating the friendships and ties, which the people of Buffalo and Western New York are enjoying with the people of other cities in countries around the world," said Mayor Brown.

Fine food, wine, door prizes, dance and other entertainment will highlight the evening's fare.

Buffalo's Sister Cities and other organizations are collaborating with the Mayor's Office on the event as an opportunity for members and those interested in membership to meet, to announce upcoming events, and to promote international understanding.  Kanazawa, Japan; Lille, France; Drohobych, Ukraine; Dortmund, Germany; Torremaggiore, Italy; Tver, Russia; and Rzeszow, Poland are cities currently enjoying international linkages and exchanges through the City of Buffalo's membership in Sister Cities International.  There are over 100 local companies doing business with these countries.

Although tickets may be purchased at the door, reservations are recommended by calling 851-4911.
