Real Estate

The Division of Real Estate is responsible for the acquisition, sale, lease and management of the City of Buffalo’s Real Property Assets. The real property assets include properties that have been abandoned for public use (former schools, libraries, firehouses, etc.) and properties that have been acquired through city tax foreclosure (In Rem). These properties are located throughout the City of Buffalo and consist of vacant land, residential structures, and commercial structures. The Division of Real Estate coordinates all real property transactions for the Office of Strategic Planning, city departments and agencies in the planning, development and redevelopment of downtown, waterfront and neighborhood projects.
