Welcome to the Office of the Corporation Counsel for the City of Buffalo.  This new and improved website introduces you to what we do and the work we are conducting on behalf of our great City.

The Law Department provides comprehensive legal services to Mayor Byron Brown, the Buffalo Common Council, and numerous departments and agencies in a wide variety of matters.  The Corporation Counsel prosecutes and defends all actions and proceedings brought by or against the City of Buffalo.  In addition to representing the City’s interest in all civil litigation, the Department of Law is responsible for drafting and reviewing all contracts involving the City.
