Home > City Departments > Emergency Management Services > Community Development Block Grant Community Development Block GrantThe City of Buffalo's Office of Strategic Planning (OSP) will hold a Public Forum on Community Needs to speak on desires for specific projects and a Workshop to help applicants prepare their proposals for funds under the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), Program Year 30, May 1, 2004 - April 30, 2005. PUBLIC FORUM ON COMMUNITY NEEDS DATE: September 11, 2003 Attendees are encouraged to speak on the need for specific projects in the City. OSP representatives will be available to take comments and answer questions regarding the current CDBG program and the goals of our future programs. PROPOSAL WORKSHOP DATE: September 15, 2003 City representatives will discuss the eligibility criteria for funding CDBG projects and the process for submitting proposals. Those interested in financial assistance to support eligible activities will be required to attend the Proposal Workshop. New applicants are especially encouraged to attend. "Year 30 Handbook" will be presented at the Proposal Workshop and are available in printed form and on a 3.5-inch floppy disk. Please contact Len Tempestoso at (716) 851-4209. Submit completed project proposal(s) to OSP by 4:30 p.m., Monday, October 13, 2003 (no exceptions will be granted). Under the Federal CDBG program, the City of Buffalo will receive about $19.5 million for Program Year 30, beginning May 1, 2004. These funds support activities principally benefiting limited income persons within the Cities older neighborhoods. Economic development, public facilities, infrastructure improvements and public services projects are eligible.
