The City of Buffalo hosts over 500 special events each year. We are proud of the many diverse, popular, safe, and family-oriented events that take place in the “City of Good Neighbors”. As we strive to better serve the citizens of Buffalo, as well as those who visit, the administration and coordination of special events continues to be a priority. We also strive to make special events more environmentally friendly in order to preserve and enhance the beauty of our city. Instructions
The Special Events Advisory Committee is composed of officials that directly oversee all aspects of the coordination of special events. In order to assist this Committee in reviewing requests for special events, please complete the attached Special Events Application and applicable supporting documents and submit to Special Events Office at least 90 days prior to the event.
Sponsor Responsibilities Submit the following to the Special Events office: a. Special Events Application (be sure to sign application as well as Hold Harmless Agreement). b. Event Requirements Form. c. Map or diagram of the location of the event. d. Any outstanding evaluations or accounting from previous year’s event if applicable. e. Copy of current year project budget. f. Copy of Certificate of Insurance naming the City of Buffalo as additional insured at the above address if utilizing a City owned venue. g. Copy of event security contract h. Application Fee of $200. Payable to the City of Buffalo Additional Permit and License Information: a. This packet includes the all of the potential departmental permits needed for hosting an event in the City of Buffalo. All City and County permits are included for your convenience. b. Sponsor is responsible for obtaining, completing and submitting all additional permits or licenses that may be required for a particular event. c. It is the responsibility of the event organizer to provide the City of Buffalo permit office (room 301) with a list of approved vendors at least 30 days in advance. It is also the responsibility of the event producer to make sure all vendors have applied for the required temporary stand and Erie County Health Department permits.
